Moda has made two senior appointments to its development team, enlisted a head of creative and signed a new headquarters as it looks to ramp up the delivery of thousands of new homes across the UK.
Carl Wood joins Moda, formerly Moda Living, as project director from construction and project management consultancy Turner & Townsend. In his new role, Carl will be responsible for managing project governance across the development pipeline while also project managing the company’s Edinburgh scheme, which was purchased from Grosvenor Estates in March. Moda will deliver 525 new homes for rent, as well as new public realm, commercial and retail space alongside 49 existing units.
Anika Day joins Moda as senior project manager from Select Property Group, where she worked as a development manager across both the company’s rental brands, Affinity Living and City Suites. Her new role at Moda will see her focus on its developments in Glasgow, Liverpool and Manchester.
Chris Cheshire joins the company as the new head of creative from SoVibrant, a strategic creative consultancy. His new role will see him working alongside Lydia Eustace, head of marketing, to build up the Moda brand.
In addition to these new hires, Moda has completed a full fit-out and refurbishment of the company’s new 4,000 sq. ft. office in Harrogate, Yorkshire to accommodate its rapidly expanding team.
Moda has secured a £1.5bn development pipeline of 6,000 apartments with its strategic funding partner Apache Capital Partners, with schemes underway in Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester, with further growth planned for this year.
The company recently rebranded and launched its new website, as well as announcing a partnership with celebrity TV interior designer Naomi Cleaver.
Tony Brooks, managing director at Moda, said:“Having acquired a portfolio of high profile city centre sites across the UK, we are looking to enter the next phase of delivery as we work to create Britain’s premier build-to-rent brand. Anika and Carl’s experience overseeing complex, high-value projects will prove invaluable, while Chris’s design expertise will help to strengthen and strategically position the Moda brand.”
