Teacrate Sets New Standards for Packaging Materials Service
PHS
Teacrate has upgraded its packaging materials service to provide
customers with next day delivery as standard. Teacrate’s
packaging division was formed last September to offer a comprehensive
nationwide service to the removals industry and the new next day
service standard is expected to further increase the company’s
success in the removals sector.
A dedicated tele-sales team headed by Nicola Humphries has been
at the heart of the new division’s success and is expected
to be expanded again later this year. A newly developed on-line
ordering system will also be launched to further streamline the
ordering process.
Business Development Manager Simon Johns said, “The average
delivery time for packaging materials in the UK is around three
to five days and we wanted to offer something better. After all,
we deliver crates to our customers the next day, so why not do
the same with packaging? We’ve invested over £750,000
in vehicles and IT infrastructure during the year to make it happen,
and now we’re ready to deliver. I firmly believe that customers
will experience the most efficient packaging materials service
in the UK.”
Teacrate holds large stocks of materials at its six depots across
the United Kingdom and operates a dedicated fleet of specially
adapted vehicles to allow rapid loading and unloading of palletised
materials. The vehicles are all equipped with tail lifts so that
heavy deliveries can be made without the need for a fork-lift
at the delivery site.
Customers ordering packaging materials either on-line or through
Teacrate’s tele-sales team before 3.00 pm, can expect delivery
the following working day.

’s Another Inside Job
Moving an airport is something only a select few can say they
have done, so InsideJOB, the UK ’s leading move and space
management experts are delighted to have won the contract to move
BA into its new, state-of- the-art Terminal 5 in time for the
unveiling in May 2008.
It ’s a huge job, but nothing that InsideJOB have not done
before, and to great acclaim.
“We will be responsible for moving 10,000m3 of volume. The
southern runway will be closed for four hours through the night
to enable migration to take place and it will be handed back to
Airfield Operations for business as usual at 04.00hrs, ”
says Elizabeth Smith, Managing Director of InsideJOB.
“The project demands a seamless day one start up, so the
right kit, in the right place, at the right time will enable BA
to successfully handle 500 flight movements, 75,000 passengers
and 97,000 suitcases on the first day of operation.
InsideJOB is experienced in such high-profile projects and our
attention to detail is second to none, so co-oordinating 500 Lorry
Loads, 30,000 tea crates and 25,000 staff is not daunting, in
fact, we relish the challenge! ”
InsideJOB - we mind your business.

PHS Teacrate Signs
Exclusive Three Year Deal with JJB Sports
Britain’s
largest crate rental supplier PHS Teacrate has signed an exclusive
deal with top sports retailer JJB Sports PLC to supply crates
for its nationwide supply chain. The three-year agreement will
provide JJB with up to 50,000 crates for its distribution centre
in Wigan, which dispatches goods to 430 stores throughout the
United Kingdom.
One reason JJB renewed the contract with Teacrate was its unique
Dynamic Pooling system that guarantees continuity of supply during
seasonal peaks and major sporting events. Teacrate’s national
sales manager Nick Burke explained how the system works. “We
look at optimum usage levels and work out the size of the product
pool. To guarantee supply during seasonal peaks we agree to hold
a buffer stock of crates that can be called upon at short notice.
This worked particularly well, for example, during the World Cup
last year when demand was very high.”
JJB Sports’ distribution manager Malcolm Bannister said;
“We’ve dealt with Teacrate for over ten years now
and their service has been invaluable. Their ability to deliver
crates at short notice is something that we’ve come to rely
on, it means that our products can be delivered to our stores
on time, even during exceptionally busy periods.”
