Integrated FM Acquires ARK E-managementIntegrated FM Acquires ARK E-management
Integrated fm has acquired ARK e-management, a developer of specialised management information systems for facilities and estates management and other sectors. ARK’s founders, Lionel Prodgers and Professor Matthew Bacon –along with other ARK staff - have joined the Integrated fm team and ARK’s software systems will now be marketed under the Integrated fm banner.
The acquisition follows a long period of collaboration between the two companies aimed at enabling full integration between the ARK SIS management system and the fm facts range of day-to-day CAFM tools. It also recognises the growing need for FMs to make better use of the wealth of information contained within CAFM systems.
“The business needs of FMs are changing, with a growing need for systems that will harvest operational data from CAFM systems, bring it together in a meaningful way and provide an enterprise perspective for strategic management,” explained Integrated fm managing director Steve Dingley. “Together, we are developing systems that will assimilate information from CAFM and other systems in the organisation and enable it to be ‘sliced and diced’ in any way that suits the user,” he continued.
Unlike the majority of Management Information Systems, the Integrated fm approach uses vendor-neutral technologies that can be used with any system to provide true interoperability. This makes it much easier and faster to turn a mass of information into useful knowledge, while also enriching that information to gain a better understanding of the whole life cycle of buildings and their contents.
The new systems have undergone rigorous field testing in a range of operating environments and will soon be launched to the FM market.
