Sontay
gets interactive! New live on-line chat facility for customers
Sontay,
the market leader in control peripheral products, has added a
‘live chat’ online support facility for customers
to talk to staff working on key functions within the business
such as the customer service and technical support teams. This
latest service enhancement is part of a huge investment the company
is making this year as part of its ongoing improvement process
to drive customer service to new levels in the HVAC sector.
Benefits of Sontay’s live support include real-time chats
with its friendly and knowledgeable support staff in five different
departments – all accessible from the ‘Contact Us’
menu at www.sontay.com. Departments currently online are customer
service, technical support, accounts, UK sales and European sales
– just look for the ‘Live Support Online’ logo.
When outside of office hours or when a member of staff is away
from their desk, there is the option to click on a ‘currently
unavailable’ button which enables the customer to send an
email to the relevant person who will then get back to them as
soon as possible. Once a session has ended, customers can rate
the quality of the service given so Sontay can look to continually
improve its business.
“The live chat is yet another tool we have implemented to
make doing business with us even easier” says Stuart McSorley,
Director at Sontay. “Feedback from our first customers indicates
that this has been was well received - they like the way they
can use it for a swift response on product availability, technical
advice, etc. We continue to listen to our customers to find out
what they want and we do our best to put into operation suitable
services to answer these requests.”
The company is making a significant six figure sum investment
to improve customer service this year. Other website developments
include an email newsletter offering the latest news and product
updates, also downloadable from the website, and the release of
the first update available, also via download, for the 2007 Product
Selection Tool CD. The update includes revised data sheets with
all pdfs now unlocked, and the correction of bugs found by customers
with the order pad. Sontay have also smoothed out the process
for buying multipack products and ordering the correct quantity
of accessories. The update can be downloaded at www.sontay.com/cd-updates.html.

Joint
action needed for workplace comfort, says expert
A
leading climate control expert is calling for a more joined-up
approach to workplace environment and its effect on staff wellbeing.
Human resources and facilities management departments would contribute
hugely to a happy workplace by planning the workplace together,
he said.
'It's common knowledge now that comfortable
and happy workers are more productive, let alone more loyal,'
said Chris Wollen of Ergro Group. But comfort goes beyond having
the right shaped chair - and it proves that there can be real
business benefits when the buildings people and the 'people people'
start working together on the fundamentals.'
Mr Wollen's comments follow the recent publication
of new research, which showed that 92 per cent of HR professionals
in the private sector believed the wellbeing of employees was
affected by their physical working environment. The research concluded
that organisations, when planning changes to the workplace, should
actively communicate with the people who the changes will affect.
Working with employees and the professionals designing and altering
any workspace will always have a better result.
Maintaining a comfortable temperature is one
of the most vital contributions that can be made, he pointed out.
Ergro Group recently commissioned independent research which showed
that 61 per cent of workers say their bosses didn't provide comfortable
conditions at work during hot weather.
'Think of what you'll need before you need
it. Hot spells can take everyone by surprise if they come early
in the year, as we've seen. So if you already have air conditioning,
arrange for servicing and maintenance now, before the peak summer
season. Having it break down when you need it most will add to
your costs.
'Getting it right in the workplace and business
environment has become even more important in recent years - we
all have more demanding clients, customers and staff,' he stressed.
'We have all heard of ergonomics - now we are
taking it a stage further. We call this new focus on a comfortable
workplace climate "Ergronomics(tm)".' More information

Air Cooling Solutions For The Warmer Months
Parrs,
one of the UK’s leading suppliers of industrial and commercial
workplace equipment, has enhanced its existing range of mobile
air conditioners, air coolers and fans with a host of new models.
They will enable organisations to provide a cool and comfortable
workplace that will enable productivity levels and staff morale
to be maintained throughout the warmer months.
More than thirty-five air-cooling products are featured in the
latest 636-page Parrs catalogue or ordered online at www.parrs.co.uk.
Particular prominence has been given to mobile systems suitable
for a wide range of environments including offices, shops, rest
areas, classrooms, factory floors and warehouses.
According to Richard Scholes, Managing Director of Parrs: “There
has been a major growth in the number of organisations ordering
air coolers as they tend to be more suitable for the workplace
environment. They offer many advantages over air conditioning
systems in that windows and doors don’t have to be closed
to work efficiently. Also, they don’t have to be vented
externally and are significantly cheaper to run.”
To help select the most appropriate air cooling solution, the
‘Parrs Guide to Cooling’, which can be found on the
company’s website, explains the difference between the different
systems. The full range is available for immediate delivery and
Parrs has specialist staff available on the telephone to discuss
particular enquiries.
F. Parr Limited is a well-established, family run firm with over
one hundred years experience. It is one of the UK’s leading
suppliers of industrial and commercial workplace equipment and
specialises in the provision of handling, working at height and
storage products. It has achieved ISO9001:2000 accreditation for
the sale and distribution of industrial products which are available
through a 636 page catalogue as well as an e-commerce website.
